Mikolar:
Pest Control Product
Effective solution against locusts
Mikolar
Biological products for protecting plants against locust pests
An original development by KazNIIZiKR, tested and registered: mycoinsecticides based on entomopathogenic fungi — Mikolar-M and Mikolar-V. They are used to control harmful locusts. The bioproduct is environmentally safe and has high biological activity against insect pests.
Currently, two mycoinsecticides have been submitted for registration under the brand names: Mikolar-V — a dry powder, and Mikolar-M — a dry powder based on entomopathogenic fungal strains B. bassiana and M. anisopliae.
Mikolar-В
Mechanism of action
A biological insecticide used to control harmful locusts. Dry powder, with a titer of at least 5 billion viable spores/g, based on the BBK-01R2 strain of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana.
Biological effectiveness – high, evaluated on 2nd–4th instar locust larvae, providing 90% mortality on the 10th–12th day after application at a titer of 5×10¹² spores/ha.
Application area, competitiveness, patent status: Permitted for use in agriculture on plots infested with locusts. Target pests: 1st–4th instar larvae of locusts – Asian locust (Locusta migratoria migratoria L.), Moroccan locust (Dociostaurus maroccanus Thnb.), Italian locust (Calliptamus italicus L.). High competitiveness. Patent of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 32395.
Readiness for practical implementation: 100%.
Technical and economic parameters: The economic benefit for enterprises from using the product is estimated at 7,000–8,000 KZT/ha.
