Functions of the Laboratory
- Participates in conducting research and development (R&D) in relevant scientific areas;
- Develops and improves methodologies, programs, regulatory and technological documents for conducting R&D in relevant scientific fields;
- Conducts phytosanitary monitoring of forest areas, urban green spaces, and nurseries, and identifies pest and disease outbreaks;
- Assesses the population levels of harmful organisms, forecasts their development, and develops control measures;
- Develops scientifically based recommendations for the protection of planting material, seedlings, saplings, as well as woody and ornamental plants;
- Carries out testing and pilot evaluation of biological products, technologies, and equipment under forest, urban, and nursery conditions;
- Provides methodological and advisory support on plant protection issues to forestry specialists, urban landscaping services, and nurseries;
- Ensures control over the efficiency and quality of research activities, as well as compliance with deadlines and program requirements;
- Participates in the preparation of scientific publications, recommendations, reports, and regulatory and technical documentation;
- Organizes professional development and training of specialists in the field of biological plant protection.
- Participates in the implementation of environmentally safe plant protection technologies in forestry, urban greening, and nursery management;
- It organizes the training and professional development of specialists in the field of plant biological protection.
Main Areas of Activity of the Laboratory:
Study of the species composition of pests and diseases of forests, forest nurseries, and urban green spaces; conducting forest pathological monitoring and assessing their phytosanitary condition
Development and implementation of scientifically based measures for the protection of forest and urban plantations from pests and diseases, including determination of optimal timing of control measures and evaluation of their effectiveness with consideration of impacts on beneficial insects (entomophages)
Sanitation of seeds and cuttings, improvement of seedling survival rates, and application of plant growth stimulants, protective-stimulating formulations, and hydrogels
Provision of advisory and methodological support to farmers and forestry specialists on forest and nursery protection
Production and implementation of elite planting material of tree species, including Kazakh-bred Turan poplar and poplar hybrids

She has been engaged in scientific activities in the field of agriculture and forestry for over 12 years, holds a PhD. Author of more than 100 scientific publications, including 7 articles with a non-zero impact factor, 4 utility model patents in Kazakhstan, 8 recommendations, 2 authorship certificates, and 1 brief atlas on pests. Co-author of the book “Farming” for universities and agricultural specialists. Hirsch index in Scopus database — 4.
